Commercial Leasing:

The skills that Doug offers his clients:
Negotiating skills. Twenty-one years of successfully negotiating real estate transactions, with many years as a top producer, have provided Doug with exceptional experience. When negotiating on behalf of tenants, he has found that his knowledge of the wide variety of disciplines involved – whether it is the lease contracts or the conditions of the space - becomes an asset.

Construction practices. Prior to focusing his primary business in real estate, Doug worked for many years in construction and as a general contractor. He still maintains his General Contractor’s B1 license and keeps in touch with the construction business. To one degree or another, tenants will interface with or hire building contractors. It is a real asset when a tenant’s real estate broker has a real understanding of costs and practices.

Architecture. After studying architecture in college, Doug has designed and prepared the working drawings for a host of different types of residential and commercial buildings. While most architects that will be working for the landlord or tenant are not eager to engage the tenant’s broker on design matters, Doug can add more understanding to the process to the tenant as well as provide additional plan review. There have been a number of instances where he has been able to discuss plans with the landlord’s architect and the tenant’s architect and offered insights that saved transactions.

Location knowledge throughout the Bay Area. With great familiarity with most of the neighborhoods throughout San Francisco, Doug has also been involved through various transactions in many other Bay Area locations such as Marin (Sausalito - San Rafael) – East Bay (Berkeley – Oakland) – Peninsula (Burlingame – San Bruno).
